Maarten Smit
Maarten Smit is an international marketing advisor and business development coach with over 23 years of experience in international project development, strategic and horticultural marketing, sector analysis, chain management & vertical partnerships, organisational strengthening, and regional development programs.
He obtained his Master’s degree in International Agricultural Production and Marketing Management after which he initiated and managed projects in countries, such as Moldova, Serbia, Croatia, Russia, China, Eritrea, Indonesia, Myanmar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.
In 2010 Maarten established GMBS Business Support to advise, train and coach private sector companies and governments in initiating and supporting international strategic marketing, agribusiness and organisational alignment trajectories.
In 2016, he co-founded the Healthy Food Healthy Lifestyle initiative for the Gulf region. In 2018 followed by the Cold Chain Cluster, being the successor of the agro-logistics working group as was initiated by the Netherlands Embassy in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
Olaf Teunissen
As an expert in water in the broader sense of the word, Mr. Teunissen has gained extensive experience in the design, development, implementation and supervision of water treatment and aquaculture projects. He carries under his belt the successful realization of more than 60 municipal and industrial waste water treatment projects (WWTP).
Mr. Teunissen is a respected trainer and holds a B.Sc. degree in Tropical Agriculture, specializing in animal production and aquaculture, and a Master of Science title in Aquaculture, obtained from Wageningen University, The Netherlands.
His international experience covers, other than the whole of Western Europe, countries ranging from Macau to Angola and from Morocco to Thailand and Indonesia. With his more than 16 years of experience in water treatment technological solutions, complimented with his warm, pragmatic and empathic approach in working with his clients; Mr. Teunissen is always looking for looking for cost-effective technological solutions that are sustainable and user-friendly in its kind.
Alexander Bruning
Mr. Bruning supports Asian and European businesses with: (i) setting up the local legal entity or branch/representation office, and choice for greenfield or existing business with local partner, (ii) reviewing incorporation documents and the articles of association/statute of the new legal entity, negotiating office space rental agreement, (iii) advising on locally required permits/authorizations and local regulatory requirements, and (iv) drafting employment agreements and consultancy agreements, assessing formal requirements and restrictions for local employees and expats.
As legal structures are often driven by tax frameworks and benefits, Mr. Bruning ensures that the client’s legal set up fits the optimal tax structure by sourcing the most suitable tax experts through his firm Bruning Legal Services (BLS), if and where required.
Mr. Bruning is a highly respected member of the professional legal community for more than 20 years and enjoys a reputation for his international experience. Mr. Bruning has represented Dutch clients investing in commercial companies in India, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Turkey, Kazakhstan, Mongolia and China.
Mya Thway
Mya Thway (Mia) is the authorised GMBS representative and marketing consultant for Myanmar. Mia is a marketing management and communication professional with a highly entrepreneurial spirit.
Her experience in public relations, communication strategies, market research, distribution & logistics as well as her international exposure in countries like The Netherlands and Japan, make her a valuable asset for our Netherlands and Myanmar linked business and project development activities.
Mia has a Master’s degree in Marketing Management, which she obtained in the city of Tilburg, The Netherlands. She speaks Burmese and English fluently and is based in Yangon.
Rara Dewayanti
Rara Dewayanti (Rara) is the GMBS representative for Indonesia. Earning a B.Sc. from Bogor Agriculture University, she attended the Magister Management Program of Economics & Business at Jakarta Mercu Buana University. Rara also attended several tailor made programs from various institutions, such as IESE Business School, Weihenstephan-Triesdorf University of Applied Sciences.
She is a strongly client-oriented professional with supportive attitude as her nature, she is highly recognized for her valuable experience in Project implementation & management, Supply chain and Export development, Market research & support, Business matchmaking, Discussion platforms, and Trade promotion/Fair management for Indonesia and other countries, such as Malaysia, Singapore and the Philippines.
Nayeem Azimi
Nayeem Azimi holds Master Degree in Agricultural Sciences with advance Post-Graduate Degrees in AgriTech Management, Plant Protection, Milking Technology & Herd Management. He is a Fellow of International Agencies like, NPHM (CPPTI), Westfalia LandTecnik, FAO, World Bank etc. Mr. Nayeem currently heads the Fasna AgriGro’s Global Delivery Center Operations in India and is authorised to represent GMBS on the Indian market.
His field of expertise is in project planning and management, contract-, organic- and precision farming as well as GAP. However, his main passion and specific proficiency is found in greenhouse cultivation, including cropping systems and soil-less cultivation, quality planting material and nurseries, cultural practices with emphasis on those practices which helps reduce pests and diseases incidence in crops, Integrated Pest Management dealing with all its aspects from preventive measures to intelligent chemical control, plant protection advice and knowing and recognizing the major pests, diseases and physiological disorders in Greenhouse Vegetable Crops.
